Finding Out Connection Details (U)
The Status (U) command provides further information with regards to the DS. Specifically, when issued through the serial port, it returns two (or, optionally, three) parameters:
Addd.ddd.ddd.ddd/ppppp[/iii.iii.iii.iii]
ddd.ddd.ddd.ddd Stands for the IP address the DS is currently communicating with (or has last communicated with, or will next communicate with)
ppppp Stands for the with which the DS is (has, will) communicating with.
[/iii.iii.iii.iii] If U is sent with the optional parameter 1 (U1 ), then the reply includes this argument, which stands for the IP address of the DS in the PPPoE link (if such a link is active).
In essence, this command allows you to see who the DS is communicating with, once you have used the Echo (X) command and have found out that a connection is established.
