A Bit More on Emulation Modes
Selecting TI, Nordic, or Microchip emulation makes the BLE interface compatible with the UART-over-BLE services of these companies. Although UART-over-BLE services provided by different vendors are essentially the same and differ in small features only, there is no direct compatibility between them. Want to work with a Microchip device? Select Microchip emulation on the WA2000's end!
Once the correct emulation mode is selected and the BLE interface is brought up, the WA2000 becomes discoverable in apps provided by Nordic and Microchip:
- The app from Nordic is called NRF Connect
- The app from Microchip is called Bluethooth Smart Data
Both apps allow sending and receiving data. They offer a great way to play with your WA2000 and BLE-enabled Tibbo BASIC/C apps.
