Sensor Pods

OSS Sensor Pods are located at the bottom portion of the device. Mechanically, a Sensor Pod is the OSS' bottom cover.

There are two types of Sensor Pods: the Modbus Pod and Sensor Pods with onboard sensors.

Modbus Pod

The Modbus Pod contains the RS485 circuitry for Modbus communications with external Modbus devices over the RS485 bus. This Pod has a Modbus cable attached to it. The rodent-resistant cable enters the Pod's enclosure via a water- and dust-proof internal gland.

Sensor Pods with Onboard Sensors

These Pods feature ventilation holes enabling the air circulation around the sensors inside the Pods. An internal partition hermetically insulates the rest of the device from the sensor compartment.
